Abstract :
The Logic of Understanding Religion, as an independent and structured field within the Islamic world, pertains to the contemporary era and provides principles and methodologies essential for comprehending religious knowledge. Pure religious understanding hinges on applying a sound methodology, drawing on foundational disciplines such as linguistics, logic, usual al-fiqh, Quranic sciences, hadith studies, language of religion, and hermeneutics. These instrumental sciences have flourished within Islamic civilization and remain vital for achieving authentic religious perspectives. Neglecting this logic has led to misunderstandings, rigid thinking, syncretism, sectarianism, literalism, and Akhbarism within the Islamic world. This research emphasizes the necessity of studying the logic of understanding religion and explores related issues for scholars. Properly applying these principles fosters pure religious thought, mitigates interpretive differences and bid’as, and strengthens the unity of the Islamic community.
